What does the youth injection do?
Pure hyaluronic acid delivered into the deeper layers of the skin increases its capacity to hold water; fine lines soften and the skin looks more hydrated, radiant and firm. The skin's own collagen production is stimulated at the same time.
Who is it for?
Anyone with dull, dry skin, fine wrinkles or loss of elasticity. It is often chosen for skin worn by smoking, sun and stress, and as a preventive treatment after the age of 30. It is not applied during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in the presence of an active skin infection, or with a known hyaluronic acid allergy.
How is it applied?
After the skin is cleaned and a numbing cream applied, the product is injected in small points with very fine needles into the face, neck, décolleté or backs of the hands. The procedure takes about 20–30 minutes and is painless.
How many sessions are needed?
An initial course of 2–3 sessions 2–4 weeks apart is usual. After that a single session every 4–6 months is enough to maintain the effect.
When are results visible and how long do they last?
Improved hydration is noticeable a few days after the first session; the most visible result appears once the course is complete. The effect lasts 4–6 months depending on the person.
How does it differ from a filler?
A filler is used to add volume to and shape a specific area. The youth injection does not add volume; it improves the quality, hydration and radiance of the skin as a whole. The two treatments can complement each other.
Are there side effects?
Mild redness, small bumps or bruising at the injection points may last from a few hours to 1–2 days. Because hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, allergic reactions are extremely rare.
What should I do afterwards?
Avoid make-up and touching the treated area for the first 24 hours, and stay away from saunas, sunbeds and strong sun for a few days. You can return to daily life the same day.
